Ensure and improve data quality

Quality-assured data is the prerequisite for every reliable analysis. BAScloud checks, detects and handles data issues systematically – automated, but always documented traceably. No value is changed invisibly.

Validation

Automated quality checks

Every incoming data point is automatically checked for completeness, plausibility and consistency. Irregularities are detected immediately instead of only being noticed during later analysis.

Rules

Plausibility rules

BAScloud checks values against configurable plausibility rules – such as physically meaningful value ranges, expected profiles or deviations from reference values. Values that violate these rules are flagged instead of being accepted unnoticed.

Detection

Detect data gaps

Missing measurements – for example due to transmission or system failures – are detected automatically. Instead of overlooking gaps, BAScloud makes them visible and classifies them by time and cause.

Gap filling

Close data gaps

Detected gaps are not simply “smoothed over” automatically and invisibly. BAScloud closes data gaps in a controlled way – for example through traceable interpolation or substitute value generation according to defined rules – and clearly labels every substitute value as such, instead of making it look like an original measurement.

Correction

Flag and correct erroneous values

Values that fail plausibility checks are flagged instead of being deleted or silently replaced. Those responsible can review, confirm, correct or explicitly document these values as erroneous.

Approval

Quality status and approvals

Every data point carries a visible quality status – from “unchecked” to “approved” (see overview above). Only approved data is passed on to downstream systems, so analyses are always based on validated values.

Traceability

Document changes traceably

Every correction, addition or approval is documented: who or what made it, when, and according to which rule. This keeps the origin of every value traceable – important for audits, reporting and trust in the data.
